Apparently, I don't know music, because I thought Adam Lambert (the “Mad World” one, right?), was horrendous. Granted, I'm only paying attention to the actual singing, none of the theatrics or stage lighting factors in for me. He was off-key, he over-dramatized every note (it sounded like he was parodying bad singers), and he kept going off track in that Mariah-Carey way which sounds silly for a song like this.
LIGHT emitting diode technology will be used to illuminate some busy tunnels and subways after successful testing on small roads and the Changjiang Tunnel-Bridge, Shanghai officials told an international LED forum…
I have enjoyed this episode more than the previous ones so far. I especially liked the human interest bits.
Yes, At a nominal household voltage of say 240v, one amp will flow. Most standard British dimmer switches are much more highly rated than this. You should be able to read the maximum capacity of the dimmer switch. This should be written on the back. If you see for example 1000w that relates to 4.16amps. This will normally refer to the resistive load capacity of the switch (ie) such as filament lamps. Its a different story with fluorescent lamps. Good Luck.
No, that is not true. I am a master electrician so i do know a little about the matter.
For incandescent bulbs (that is, standard light bulbs) yes, you save money with a dimmer. A very small amount of energy is lost as heat in the dimmer switch, but mostly it reduces the amount of energy going to the bulb. Less electricity, less light, less money.
Fluorescent bulbs, in general, be put on a dimmer switch. That includes both the long fluorescent tubes and most compact fluorescents. There are a few brands (like the Energy Dimming Spirals) that do allow you to use a dimmer switch with the compact fluorescent.
In general, fluorescents (including compact fluorescents) put out more light per amount of electricity used, so rather than dimming you might want to change your bulbs. They cost more but save you electricity, and the bulbs last a very long time. But some people hate the color and slight flicker of compact fluorescents, so see what you like. (The better and more expensive bulbs have better color and almost no flicker.)
This is not Xi Xi. Xi Xi is about your brothers in the face of adversity. This is about bringing back the Greek organization. I was of the last true Xi Xi class, and I am proud to be brothers with my fraternal brothers. And I will my true Xi Xi brothers with my electrical engineering, attorney, and patent attorney abilities, but until I meet this next generation, I promise nothing.
